The well-known Liège-based restaurant Yaka Afrotoria has brought a serious dose of summer heat to Brussels with its brand-new pop-up: Boukan Boukan. Nestled in the former space of Chez Marie near Flagey, this vibrant temporary spot is all about fire, flavor, and Afro-diasporic soul.

Rotisse celebrates one of the city's most cherished culinary staples: roasted chicken. Historically, Brusseleirs were fondly nicknamed "kiekefretters," or chicken eaters, due to their love for this comforting dish. While their will be plenty of things to do for this year’s No Cars Day in Brussels, I wanted to share my very favorites. The count down has begun! Less than two days until Sunday September 22nd! Place Sainte-Catherine has been my place to be every year for at least 12 years. It becomes like a big neighborhood party, where every one gets together and has a fun time.
Noordzee
Noordzee, or Mer du Nord, is a staple of Brussels’ food scene and a must-visit for seafood lovers. Located on Place Sainte-Catherine, this fish bar is known for serving the freshest catch in a vibrant and convivial atmosphere. For me, Noordzee holds a special place—it was my very first job when I arrived in Belgium. It’s where I first felt the pulse of Brussels' culinary heartbeat and discovered the magic of seafood served straight from the source.
La Fruitière
A short walk from Manneken Pis, is La Fruitière. A delightful fusion of cheese shop, aging cellar, and intimate tasting bar. This charming establishment offers a unique experience for cheese enthusiasts, allowing patrons to savor a curated selection of cheeses on-site.
